1987: The Committee Approves the 'Let's Put a Moat Around the Castle' Initiative

In a move that would be later questioned by historians, the committee voted to construct a 10-foot moat around the castle's north wing. Justification for this decision included "security concerns" and "aesthetics." The moat, which cost an estimated $10,000 to fill with actual moat water, was later deemed "a questionable use of committee funds."
